WHAT IS A CERAMIC COATING?

A ceramic coating is a liquid-applied protective layer that bonds to properly prepared paint or other compatible surfaces. Once cured, it forms a durable, slick, water-repellent finish.

Ceramic coating vs. traditional wax

Why choose ceramic protection?

Longer-lasting protection

Traditional wax generally needs reapplication within weeks or months, depending on the product and conditions. A properly applied and maintained ceramic coating can last much longer, depending on the coating and how the vehicle is cared for.

Easier washing

Ceramic coatings repel water and make many types of dirt and road grime easier to wash away. They do not eliminate the need for regular cleaning.

Gloss and surface protection

Coatings can add depth and gloss while providing a sacrificial layer against environmental contamination and some chemical exposure. Results depend heavily on preparation and maintenance.

How is ceramic different from wax?

Traditional wax

  • Lower upfront cost
  • Gloss and short-term water beading
  • Requires more frequent reapplication
  • Great for customers who prefer periodic protection

Professional ceramic coating

  • Higher initial investment
  • Potentially longer service life
  • Strong water repellency and easier routine cleaning
  • Requires thorough surface preparation and proper curing

What ceramic cannot do

  • Does not prevent rock chips or deep scratches
  • Does not make a vehicle maintenance-free
  • Does not guarantee protection from water spots or all stains
  • Does not restore badly oxidized surfaces without correction first

What about RVs, campers and boats?

We offer ceramic protection options for suitable RV and camper exteriors and boat surfaces. Gelcoat, fiberglass and paint need different preparation and product compatibility checks. We inspect condition, recommend the right correction if needed, and quote the coating based on size and scope.

Starting ceramic coating prices: RVs and campers from $70/ft; boats from $70/ft. Final pricing depends on condition, prep work and coating choice.
